Ghostbusters vs. The Shining
I came late to The Shining, and by that time most of the parodies I had seen of it actually seemed scarier than the movie itself (including the funny, edited trailor). Ghostbusters, on the other hand, scared the shit out of me.
City of the Lost Children vs. High Fidelity
Don't get me wrong, I like High Fidelity. I own it. I watch it from time to time. I can relate to all the music wankers. But in the end, it's a movie about a fairly shallow man who has a fairly shallow epiphany, whereas The City of Lost Children is confusing and complicated--therefore, it must be deep.

I don't know Andrew... Controversial choices and all that....mmm, no one else is saying anything, so I thought I'd go ahead a and critique myself, since Jeff is probably off masturbating somewhere.
